Albert "Al" P. Isgro

UTICA- Albert “Al” P. Isgro, age 80, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at the Wynn Hospital surrounded by the peace and love of his wife, Catherine.

He was born on March 28, 1943 a son of the late Albert and Angeline (Minuli) Isgro and would go on to graduate from Proctor High School. On October 3, 1970, Al married the love of his life, Catherine Coleman in Utica City Hall. He was a codes inspector for the City of Utica for over 31 years and owner/operator of A.P. Associates for 44 years. Al also served as President of the CSEA Union, Board of Directors of the Skating Club of Utica and was an avid Mets Fan. 

Al is survived by his loving wife, Catherine; his daughter, Nicholette; grandchildren, Bryce, Logan and Chloe; feline companion, Logan and his neighbors who were more like family, Eric and Karen Tilton.

To Eric and Karen, a very special thank you, Al and I are so grateful for your support and always being there for us, you will never be forgotten, to the team from the Maple House, Jen (the shift leader), Laurie, Liz, Gabby and Iva for your kindness, Jen, thank you for the coffee breaks. To Donna Grippe for always making Al and I look so nice, our hair was always perfect and to Julie for always helping Al in and out of the car, it made it so nice to come there, we always enjoyed those few hours together and we will never forget. To Deacon Richard, thank you for always giving us communion on Sunday and Donna for giving us Logan. Thank you Becky, Maryann and Liz (the Acacia/Masonic Home Team) for always helping Al and being so kind. To Lt. Rich and the staff at the North Utica Fire Dept. thank you for helping Al in all his times of need. Special thank you to Dr. Ken Visalli and Dr. Jason Sloane for the wonderful care you both have given Al as well as the three R.N.s at the Wynn, Mirza, Jessie and Richard on the 5th floor for your care and compassion during a difficult time. The last few days that Al was at the Wynn, he had the greatest care that anyone could have had, I am so grateful for the support, you will never be forgotten. Lastly, to Margaret, from the 5th floor at the Wynn, thanks for the lunch and dinner that you brought us, you have been so kind during these past days. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Monday, February 19, 2024 at 1 PM at St. Mark’s Church, Utica, where his Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated. The family will receive guests following the Mass.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Al’s name may be made to St. Mark’s Church. Envelopes will be available at the Mass.
