Angeline R. "Angie" (Nivaggi) Ducato

Mrs. Angeline R. "Angie" (Nivaggi) Ducato, age 92, of Utica, passed away on Monday April 4, 2016 at the Masonic Care Community with her loving family by her side.

She was born on April 6, 1923 in Utica, a daughter of the late Giovanni and Teresa Simone Nivaggi, and was a graduate of T.R. Proctor High School.

On July 10, 1948, she was joined in marriage to Onofrio (Joseph) Ducato in St. Anthony's Church, a blessed union of 67 years. Angeline was employed as a Claims Technician for the Social Security Administration for many years until her retirement in 1986. She was a member of the North Utica Senior Center.

Surviving are her beloved husband Joseph; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Vincent Miranda of Boonville, and Judith and Steve Lake of Deerfield; one son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Cathy Ducato of N. Utica; her beloved grandchildren, Beth Ann Cable, Jason and Katie Miranda, David and Lisa Miranda, Kimberly and Kevin Maring, Jackie and Patrick Andrews, and Joseph and Angela Bader; cherished great-grandchildren, Lindsey, Dylan, Davin, Dalton, Patrick, Corey, Jared, Joshua, Abigail, Hunter, Lilly and Stevie; one sister Lena Grasso; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Vincent and Claudia Nivaggi and John and Emily Nivaggi; sister-in-law Anna Graziano and many cherished nieces and nephews. She also leaves her dear friends from "The Neighborhood" Marie and Til Cucci, Carmella Malozzi and Juanita and George Sims. She was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law Josephine and Thomas Graziano, her in-laws Philip and Felma Ducato, Carmen Grasso, and Providence and Tony Coromato.

Her funeral will be held on Friday at 11:00 am from The Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home, Inc. 1122 Culver Ave, and at 12:00 noon in St. Anthony/St. Agnes Church. Private entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
