Anna M. Giacovelli, age 92, of Utica, passed away on Saturday December 20, 2025, at the Wynn Hospital with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Utica on May 9, 1933, a daughter of the late Michael Sr. and Josephine DeMarco Macchione and was educated in local schools. On May 4, 1957, she was married to Anthony Giacovelli in St. Anthony of Padua Church a blessed union of 68 years.
Anna was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister, whose life centered around her family. Anna’s entire world was taking care of her family, always tending to their needs, making sure there was always a hot meal prepared for them. They will forever hold her memory in their hearts.
Surviving is her beloved husband Anthony “Tony”; her daughter Lucille Giacovelli Harden and husband Thomas; her son and daughter-in-law Anthony Jr., and Donna Giacovelli; one brother and sister-in-law Michael and Linda Macchione; brother-in-law Angelo Giacovelli; grandchildren Anthony (Trisha) DeNicola, Kara A. DeNicola, Jenna DeNicola Ross and husband Jordan, Anthony M. III and Ainslee Giacovelli, Tayla Giacovelli Sykes and husband Derek, Jessica (Alex) Hernandez, Brittany (Ryan) Hughes and Kevin Manolescu; great grandchildren Geonni DeNicola, Enzo, Donato and Giovanna DeNicola, Jordan and Jaxson Ross, Crew Sykes, Avery and Leia Hughes, Janaysa and Mason Hernandez, Cora and Maddox Giacovelli, and nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her sister Dolores Macchione Mitchell.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday December 30, 2025, at 12:00 noon in Anthony/St. Agnes Church. The family will greet visitors at the conclusion of mass in church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s/Dementia Assoc. or the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available.
