Bania J. "Bonnie" DeGeorge

Bania J. “Bonnie” DeGeorge age 71, of Utica, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday October 14, 2025, at her home

She was born in Utica on February 15, 1954, a daughter, of the late Benjamin and Patricia Demme DeGeorge and was a graduate of Utica Schools.

Bonnie was employed as a waitress in many area restaurants throughout the years. In her later years she became employed with the Price Chopper Corp. until her retirement. Bonnie was a loving mother and grandmother who loved her children dearly. She will be sadly missed but never forgotten.

Surviving are two sons Anthony Zammiello and his wife Sarah of Marcy and Frank Zammiello (Leda Nutting) of VT. and their father Frank Zammiello; one daughter and son-in-law Stephanie and Jason Waters of Whitesboro; one brother Stephen DeGeorge of Utica; her beloved grandchildren Giavanna Alberico, Daniel Kinney, Mia Kinney, Mackenzie Zammiello and Egan Zammiello and several in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her beloved son Salvatore “Sal” Alberico in 2005 and his father Salvatore Alberico, Jr. in 2022.

A special Thank You is extended to the Alberico family, especially Caprice Alberico Daniels (Bonnie’s sister-in-law) and fiancé Brad Hellinger for always taking care of Bonnie’s little girl Stephanie, also Maria (Alberico) Brindisi for her help and comfort during this difficult time. The family extends a sincere Thank You to the Utica Fire Dept. and Utica Police Dept. for their valiant efforts and source of consolation.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday October 29th from 5:30 -7:00 pm at The Scala, Roefaro & Karboski Funeral Home 1122 Culver Ave. Utica. Prayers services will commence at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery with her son Salvatore “Sal” Alberico.
