Barbara A. Paciello, age 88, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2026, at the Wynn Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born in Utica on October 5, 1937, a daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Sayles) Paciello. Barb graduated from Frankfort- Schuyler High School and would go on to be employed with ConMed Corp for 35 years until her retirement. She was a communicant of St. Anthony/St. Agnes Church, a devout Catholic her entire life.
Barbara’s main love was her family. Known to everyone affectionately as Aunt Barb, she was a practical jokester and was always there for all the family events throughout the years. Her family will hold her memory in their hearts.
She is survived by her brother, Roger Paciello, Utica; her nieces and her nephews, Dawn Convertino, Kevin (Tammy) Godkin, David Godkin, Colleen (Jim) Baris, Gerald (Mary Plante) Godkin, Scott (Kristen) Godkin, Cathleen Hooker, Joseph (Kathy) Paciello, Thomas (Lisa) Paciello, Roger (Kimberly) Paciello, Rocco (Angela) Paciello and Lisa Tedesco; 30 great-nieces and great-nephews; as well as her many great-great nieces and great-great nephews, and many cousins especially Dena and Joe Russo. She also leaves her canine companion and best friend, “Jack”. Barb was predeceased by her sister, Joan (Jerry) Godkin, sister-in-law, Jane Paciello, great-nephew, David Godkin Jr., and great-niece, Tonya Godkin.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 12 Noon at St. Anthony/St. Agnes Church where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Her family will receive guests following the Mass. Private interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery.
The Paciello family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Wynn Hospital for the care and compassion shown during her stay, as well as Barb’s neighbors, Ronnie and Debbie Testa for always being there for Barb.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Barb’s name can be made to the Herkimer County Humane Society or to Anita’s Stevens-Swan Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the Mass.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Scala, Roefaro & Karboski Funeral Home 1122 Culver Ave., Utica.
