Mrs. Beverly A. (Musa) DiPerna, age 88, of Utica, passed away on Sunday May 24, 2026, in the comfort of her home with her beloved family by her side.
She was born in Utica on August 4, 1937, a daughter of the late Dominick and Matilda “Tillie” Shimkus Musa and was a graduate of UCA High School. On August 2, 1956, she married Henry R. “Hank” DiPerna, Sr. Beverly and Hank loved and relied upon one another throughout their 57-year union. Hank passed away on January 11, 2014. Beverly was employed with the New York Telephone Co. for several years, until her retirement.
Beverly was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren. They loved Beverly as much as she loved them, and their worlds revolved around one another. They will forever hold her memory in their hearts.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Hank Jr. and Rhonda DiPerna, of FL, , Jeannine and Joe Johnson of Utica, and Philip and Darlene DiPerna of Sauquoit; her beloved grandchildren, Joe and Tina DiPerna, Arianna White, Jenna and Dan Corbett, Alexandra Cortese, Joe Johnson and Ali Iappe, Michael Johnson, Philip DiPerna Jr., and Jordan and Jonah Schaaf; her cherished great-grandchildren, Haley, Nicholas, Ava, Peyton, Kailer, JoJo and Sonni; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law Lorraine and Mike Yozzo; several cousins especially Carol Owen and family and dear friends who were like her family, Rose Nelson and family and Mary Lourdes and Carissa Summa.
She was predeceased by her beloved daughter Melanie DiPerna-Cortese; her brother Nanny (Alice) Musa, her in-laws, Florence and Henry Testa, Jr. and Philip and Shirley DiPerna.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Beverly’s funeral service and Celebration of Life which will commence on Saturday May 30th at 12:00 noon at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish, Utica, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated by the Rev. James Cesta.
The family will greet visitors at the conclusion of mass in church.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice Care Inc. for their exceptional care given to Beverly during her illness. Envelopes will be available at the church.
Funeral arrangements are by The Scala, Roefaro & Karboski Funeral Home Inc. 1122 Culver Ave., Utica.
