Carol (Lombard) Soldato

Mrs. Carol (Lombard) Soldato, age 85, of Utica, passed away on Sunday December 27, 2015 at the Katherine Luther Health Care Center with her beloved family by her side.

She was born on March 2, 1930 in Utica, a daughter of the late Anthony and Sadie Gleba Lombard, and was educated in local schools.

On June 14, 1951 she was joined in marriage to Joseph M. Soldato in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, a blessed union of 64 years.

Carol was employed with the Utica City School District as a Teachers Aide for many years until her retirement.

Surviving are her beloved husband, Joseph; two sons and daughters-in-law, Frank and Sue Soldato of CT, and William J. and Lucille Soldato of Deerfield, NY; one daughter and son-in-law, Karen Ann and Jonathan Bradley of Delaware; five grandchildren, Steven Soldato and Samantha Montanaro, Maria and Mike Spohrer, Dominique Soldato, Frank Soldato and Kira Bradley; five great-grandchildren, Adrianna Soldato, Evelyn and Delilah Spohrer, Anthony Soldato and Alex Montanaro; one sister and brother-in-law, Gladys and Mike Wojanowski of Utica; two half- brothers, Anthony (Butch) Palladino and Joseph Palladino; sister-in-law Marie Soldato; brother-in-law Roy Soldato; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her step father, Anthony Palladino, one sister, Anna Mae Farmer, and her half sister Mary Carey.

Her funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. from The Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home, Inc. 1122 Culver Ave. and at 2:00 p.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
