Colleen M. Carlo, age 52, of Utica passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday June 14, 2017 at her home.

She was born in Utica on August 24, 1964 a daughter of the late Eugene and Jean Smith Fitzsimmons and was a graduate of Notre Dame High School and the Utica School of Commerce where she attained her Paralegal Degree. Colleen was employed with the Utica City School District for over 23 years, until her retirement.

Surviving are her daughter Kelsey Carlo of Frankfort; her son Matthew Carlo of VA.; two stepdaughters Erika Yacobucci and husband Michael of New Hartford and Amanda Gazzilli of Rome; two sisters Rene' Fish and husband Paul of Utica and Beth Johnston of Yorkville; seven grandchildren; her former husband James J. Carlo, Jr. and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday 6/22/17 at 10:30 am in St. Anthony/St. Agnes Church, Utica. The family will greet all visitors at the conclusion of mass in church. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider donations to Colleen's children to help them at this difficult time.
