Obituary

Daniel P. Ricci, age 61, of Frankfort, passed away on August 25, 2026, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

He was born on July 26, 1965, a son of the late Joseph and Diane (Leonard) Ricci. Dan attended Proctor High School and would go on to obtain his associate’s degree from HCCC. On June 25, 1988, he married the love of his life Elizabeth “Beth” Knobloch in Annunciation Church. Dan was currently employed as a mechanic with Revere Copper Products in Rome.

He was a master mechanic and loved to tinker with any small engine. Dan was lovingly referred to as “Dan the Man” because he could fix anything. He was the most patient dad and the best teacher. From teaching his daughters how to fix a tire and change their oil, to video calls asking him how to fix appliances in their own homes. Dan took his son-in-law Cory under his wing and taught him all he knew. He was “Uncle Dan” to many, whether he was related to you or not. It did not matter if you were family, friend or he just met you, if you needed help, he would be there.

In the summer you’d find Dan and his wife Beth at their home on White Lake, his favorite place. Giving any visitor the “three-hour tour” ride around the lake was his specialty. Dan and Beth have enjoyed 38 years of home improvement projects, Friday night dinner dates, and dog walks on the railroad tracks.

Dan is survived by his wife Beth, daughters Nicole (Cole) Ryon and Daniele (Cory) Harris; his grandchildren, Jordan Schultz and Jace Ryon; his brother, Jason (fiancée Tina) Ricci; his aunts, Madeline (Don) Helfert, Nancy Leonard and many cousins; his sisters-in-law, Jacquelyn and Gail Knobloch; his brother-in-law, Alvin Knobloch; his niece/goddaughter Kristen (Matt) Harris; his nephew Brian (Kim) Knobloch; his grandniece and nephews Ethan and Owen Harris and Connor and Abigail Knobloch.

He joins in heaven his father, mother, father and mother-in-law, and brother-in-law, Richard Knobloch.

The Ricci family would like to give their thanks to the Upstate Trauma team for all their help, the Mercy Flight crew, and all the volunteer first responders that helped Dan.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Monday, August 31, 2026 from 4 PM to 6 PM at the Scala, Roefaro & Karboski Funeral Home 1122 Culver Ave, Utica. Private burial will take place at a later date.
