Dolores I. Centolella

Dolores I. “Lorie” Centolella, age 78, of Utica, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at the Wynn Hospital after a brief illness, with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Utica on April 10, 1948, a daughter of the late Joseph and Nellie (Strilka) Raiano. Lorie was a graduate of Whitesboro Schools and later earned her college certificate in accounting. She was previously married to the late Raymond L. Centolella, and from that union came two beloved children, Raymond and Kristen.

Lorie worked in local establishments serving spirits—a vocation she truly Enjoyed, and one in which she made many lasting friendships. For the past 33 years, she shared her life with her partner, Raymond Baker, Sr. Together, they treasured their time at camp and their love of the outdoors. Lorie especially looked forward to hosting and cooking holiday dinners, most Notably Christmas. She loved a good card game and anything that brought laughter into their home.

Her greatest joy in life came from the moments she spent with her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren, who affectionately called her Nana or “Nana Banana.” Her life revolved around them, as they were truly her heart and soul. Lorie held many cherished roles throughout her life—mother, nana, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend—and her entire family will forever hold her memory close.

Surviving are her life partner, Raymond Baker, Sr., and his children Raymond Baker, Jr., Jason Baker, and Stacey Stockbridge; her son, Raymond Centolella, and his life partner, Heather Callahan, and her son, Gabriel; her beloved grandchildren René and Bogdan Pyrda, Matthew Centolella, and Sarah and Elliott Jackson; her cherished greatgrandchildren Zoey, Ewa, Dominic, and Quinn Pyrda, and Isidora Jackson; her nieces and nephews Lisa Raiano and her life partner Laurie Lane, Michele Raiano, Jill DesJardins, Joseph Raiano Jr., and Lucretia Centolella Graham; and many cousins, especially her devoted cousins, Nick Montana of Las Vegas and Anna Marie Miazga. She also leaves behind dear friends Jimmy Caramadre, Cris Kittle, Sherry Iannone, and especially Karen Ricci, whom she considered family.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Kristen Centolella; her brother, Joseph Raiano Sr.; her sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Daniel DesJardins; and her dear friend, Marilyn LaBarbera.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Friday July 10, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church, 1206 Lincoln Ave., Utica. The family will receive visitors at the conclusion of Mass in the church. Private entombment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Lorie may be made to the Abraham House or the Anita Stevens Swan Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the service.

The family would like to thank the Utica Fire Department EMS, St. Luke’s Home, and the Wynn Hospital staff for the care and compassion given to Lorie during her illness.
