Farid Selmi

Farid Selmi, age 53, of Sauquoit, NY, passed away suddenly while traveling abroad on Saturday March 21, 2026.

He was born December 5, 1972, to Mahfoudh and Messaouda Selmi in Kairouan, Tunisia. Farid was a much loved member of the medical community where he cherished his work as a Respiratory Therapist at many hospitals around NY State.

Farid is survived by his wife of almost 20 years, Stephanie (Sellitti) Selmi and their two daughters, Sophia and Yasmina, his sister-in-law Jessica and Tahar Ayari and nephew Naseem Ayari; and as the youngest of 9 siblings, many extended family members abroad.

Visitation for Farid will be held on Friday, April 10th, 2026, from 1pm-2pm at The Scala, Roefaro, & Karboski Funeral Home 1122 Culver Ave. Utica, NY.

There will be a celebration of life immediately following at the Willowvale Fire Department in Chadwicks, NY.
