Gary R. O'Dell

Mr. Gary R. O'Dell, age 66, of Schuyler, NY passed away with his loving family and friends by his side on Wednesday March 22, 2017 at his home.

He was born in Oneonta, NY on July 31, 1950 a son of the late Julian and Betty J. Kelsey O'Dell and was educated in Whitesboro Schools. Gary was employed in his earlier years on the farm. Most recently he was an Auto Mechanic with the Sunoco Service Station in Marcy, until his retirement. Gary was involved in many activities and was an avid outdoorsman including bowling, fishing, hunting, CB radio and he enjoyed playing black jack. Most of all, he loved spending time with family and friends.

Surviving are his beloved wife Sandy J. Davis O'Dell; his three children from his first marriage, Gary R. O'Dell Jr. and his companion Lee of Frankfort, Brian K. and Patricia O'Dell of Utica and Fawn O'Dell of Utica; three sisters and one brother Theresa Pickard of Bridgeport, Curt O'Dell of Utica, Janet Oliver of Utica, Beverly and John Doris of Kirkville; his cousin that was raised with the family Kevin Clack of Utica and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4-7 pm at The Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home Inc. 1122 Culver Ave. Funeral services and committal prayers will be held on Saturday morning at 10:00 am in the Chapel at Forest Hill Cemetery, Oneida St. Utica. with the Rev. John Buehler officiating.
