Genevieve (Ferro) Gigliotti

Mrs. Genevieve (Ferro) Gigliotti, age 104, of Utica, passed away on Monday January 12, 2026, at the Masonic Care Community with the love of her family in her heart.

She was born in Utica, a daughter of the late Anthony J. and Daisy Sinisgalli Ferro. A lifelong Utica area resident, she attended local schools and graduated from Thomas R. Proctor High School.

Mrs. Gigliotti was a secretary and worked for the Savage Arms Corp., the Utica City School District, and the Oneida County Supreme Court. She was a volunteer member of the Guild of St. Elizabeth Medical Center. In 2005, she received the Eleanor Nelson Award for her dedication and services to the Guild of St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

She was a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Church.

Genevieve will be remembered as having a kind heart and a generous spirit. On June 24, 1961, she was united in marriage to Ben L. Gigliotti, a loving and blessed union of 40 years. Ben passed away on December 22, 2001.

Surviving are her stepdaughter, Christine (Jackie) Faga; her grandchildren, Vicki Vomer, Anthony Faga, Mark Faga and Terry Velez, and Charlene Faga; great-grandchildren Christopher and Christina Vomer, Marissa Jo and Stacey Vomer, Christopher and Melissa Faga and Miranda Velez; nephews and wives, Charles A. and Rita Ferro, John J. and Christine Ferro, and Daniel and Francine Ferro; and several great nieces, great nephews and cousins, especially, Pamela Nigro, John Nigro, Lisa Taurisano, Bernadette Jackson, and Michael Filipelli. She was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law, Charles Jr. and Helen Ferro, her stepdaughter Marylyn Bohn and husband John (Jack) Bohn, grandson David Vomer, Jr., son-in-law Ralph Faga and nephew Thomas Ferro.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Monday January 19th at 12:00 noon in St. Anthony/St. Agnes Church. The family will greet visitors at the conclusion of mass in church. Private interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Whitesboro.

In lieu of flowers, in her memory, contributions may be made to The Stevens-Swan Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the services.
