James "Jim" Lewis

James P. “Jim” Lewis, age 69, of Chadwicks, NY passed away on Friday, May 8, 2026, at the Wynn Hospital, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, with those he loved most by his side.

He was born in Utica on April 27, 1957, a son of the late Edward and Mary Sheehan Lewis and was educated in local schools. On August 7, 1982, he was married to Maryann Maggiolino in Blessed Sacrament Church.

Jim was a skilled alarm technician, having begun his work career with the Sentinel Security Co. in the early 1980’s, as an expert alarm installation and repair technician. He continued his career as the company grew into the General Security Co. Jim was still working after a 50 year career in the industry.

A loving and devoted family man, Jim will forever live in the hearts of his beloved family.

Jim is survived by his wife Maryann; his son and daughter-in-law Christopher and Laura Lewis of Albany; his daughter and son-in-law Caitlynn and Ryan Saunders of MD.; one brother and sister-in-law Edward and Kathy Lewis of Oneida; one sister Joan Lewis of CA.; his in-laws John and Terra Maggiolino, Frank and Patty Maggiolino, Rick and Dawn Maggiolino; his godson, Aaron Maggiolino, two aunts Shirley Lewis and Ermalinda Lewis; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, May 15th at 11:00 am in Mary, Mother of Our Savior Church, 2222 Genesee St. Utica. (Our Lady of Lourdes Campus). The family will greet visitors at the conclusion of Mass in church.

The family wishes to extend a special Thank You to Dr. Atul Butala for his exceptional care and concern given to Jim during his illness. Also, a thank you is extended to the 8E nursing staff at the Wynn Hospital, and a heartfelt thank you to his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Rick and Dawn Maggiolino for their constant daily visits filled with care and devotion to Jim.
