Johanne (Ayoub) Amitrano

Johanne (Ayoub) Amitrano, age 84, of Utica, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday May 27, 2023, at her home with the love of her family in her heart.

She was born in Utica on November 18, 1938, a daughter of the late Fred and Fannie DeGeorge Ayoub and was a graduate of TR Proctor High School. On October 24, 1964, she was married to Pasquale Amitrano in Historic Old St. John’s Church a blessed union of 46 years until his passing in 2010.

Johanne was employed with the Conmed Corp., General Electric and the Mohawk Containers Co. for over 14 years in their sales dept, until her retirement.

Surviving are her beloved daughter Allison Gaetano of Sauquoit; her cherished grandchildren Francesca Gaetano and Charles Gaetano III; two sisters and a brother-in-law Mary Teti of New Hartford and Frederica Sacco Dziekonski and husband Richard of Clinton; two brothers Abraham Ayoub of Utica and Anthony and wife Bonnie Ayoub of Remsen; son-in-law Charles (Chuck) Gaetano II and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday June 7, 2023, at 11:00 am in Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Church.  The family will greet all visitors at the conclusion of mass in church. Private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
