Joseph E. Colicci

Mr. Joseph E. Colicci, age 94, of Utica, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday November 30, 2014 in Harrisburg, PA., where he had resided with his son and daughter-in-law.

He was born in Utica on October 12, 1920, a son of the late Angelo and Frances Palazzo Colicci, and was a graduate of T.R.ProctorHigh School. On August 29, 1942, he was joined in marriage to the former Rose Sopo in St. Anthony's Church, a blessed union of 70 years until her passing on July 2, 2013.

Joseph proudly served our country in the US Army during WWII.

He was employed by General Electric for many years and also at Con-Med for over 30 years as a Supervisor in Manufacturing until his retirement. Joe was a member of the Knights of St. John Commandary # 385, Noble Degree since it's inception in 1960, and was also a member of the North Utica Seniors, and the I.A.M.

Surviving are one loving son and daughter-in-law, Angelo and Diane (Nesci) Colicci of PA; his cherished grandchildren, Lisa Leone and David Evans; Angelo and Kelly Colicci and Robert Rimmer Jr.; his cherished great-grandchildren, Angelo III and Vincenzo Colicci, Bryce, Jasmine and Dante Rimmer; one brother and sister- in-law, Ralph and Jacqueline Colicci; his in-laws, Angeline Penge and Mildred DellaGalla; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Donna Lee Colicci; two brothers, William Colicci and Anthony and Irma Colicci, his in-laws Marco Penge, Joseph Sopo, Marion and Joseph Capozella, and Joseph DellaGala.

His funeral will be held on Friday at 9:45 a.m. from The Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home, Inc. 1122 Culver Ave., and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Anthony and St. Agnes Church, with Military Honors. Private interment will be in CalvaryCemetery.

Visiting hours will be Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The Knights of St. John will assemble for services at 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
