Joseph A. DeTraglia

May 31, 1932 — August 31, 2016

Mr. Joseph A. DeTraglia age 84, of South Trenton, passed away on Wednesday August 31, 2016 at home with his loving family by his side.

He was born in Utica on May 31, 1932, son of the late Frank and Rose LaPorte DeTraglia. He graduated in Proctor High's class of 1951 and Delhi College's class of 1953. He was married to Barbara Cabouch in a blessed union of 63 years.

Joe was employed with the NYSDOT for 35 years and was a member of the NYS Association of Transportation Engineers. He enjoyed spending time in the woods with the Paramount Hunting Club, and was a volunteer with the South Trenton Community Association.

Surviving are his beloved wife, Barbara; three daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Edward (Ted) Colebeck of GA, and South Trenton residents Sandra and Charles Parsons and Joann DeTraglia; two sons and daughters-in-law Frank and Katey DeTraglia of MA, and Joseph DeTraglia Esq. and Dr. Alicia DeTraglia of Clinton; his beloved grandchildren, Robert and Mark Colebeck, Charles, Joseph and Barbara Parsons, Sophia Mostafa, Liliana, Frank and Mark DeTraglia, and Joseph and Lydia DeTraglia; one sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Bob Angelhow of New Hartford; his in-laws, Gloria and Al Barbato of Utica; his niece Roseanne Angelhow; and his nephews Rob Angelhow and Al, Paul, Mark and Anthony Barbato.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. in Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Church. Private interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held Friday from 4-7 p.m. at The Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home, Inc. 1122 Culver Ave. Utica.

The family expresses their sincere thanks to his daughter-in-law Dr. Alicia DeTraglia and Drs. Desai, Fleischer, Parlato, Gaffney, Patel, and Dang and their staffs, and also to the caregivers at Hospice Care Inc. for all of their care and kindness given to Joe and his family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe's name may be made to the South Trenton Community Association. Envelopes will be available, or can be mailed to Sue Stockman at 7010 Trenton Road, Barneveld, NY 13304.
