Lawrence E. Fredsell

September 12, 1919 — August 17, 2014

Mr. Lawrence E. Fredsell, age 94, of Utica, passed away on Sunday August 17, 2014 at the Masonic Care Community, with his loving family by his side.

He was born on September 12, 1919 in Tupper Lake, NY, a son of the late Erik and Florence Everding Fredsell. Educated in his hometown, he was a graduate of TupperLakeHigh School. He proudly served our country during WW II in the US Army, stationed in Japan and the Philippines.

On November 28, 1946 he was joined in marriage to Jane M. Perry in St. Agnes Church, a blessed union of 66 years until her passing on March 14, 2013.

Larry was employed by the Boston Store for 28 years along with the NYS Department of Transportation as a Plant Manager, until his retirement.

His favorite pastime was watching the N.Y. Yankees and N.Y. Giants. He was also an avid bowler for many years.

Surviving are two beloved daughters Mary Ann Fredsell and Christine Fredsell of Utica; three beloved sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Rochelle Fredsell of New Hartford, Martin and Michelle Fredsell of Westmoreland and Lawrence and Mary Jo Fredsell of Utica; seven cherished grandchildren, Erik, Justin, Lawrence, Nathan, Mattie, Ashley and Luke; one sister-in-law Eleanor Mallozzi of Utica, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister, Estelle and two brothers, Erik and Henry.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 12:00 noon inSt. Anthony/St. Agnes Church, with the Rev. Mark Kaminski officiating, and Military Honors conferred. Private interment will be in St.AgnesCemetery. There will be no public visitation.

The family will greet visitors at the conclusion of mass in church.

The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the entire staff of the Queens Unit and the Dialysis Unit at the Masonic Care Community for their exceptional care and compassion and also the MohawkValleyNephrologyCenter. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dialysis Unit of the Masonic Care Community. Envelopes will be available.
