Leroy Jalonack

February 1, 1941 — October 19, 2017

Mr. Leroy Jalonack age 76 of Utica, passed away on Thursday October 19, 2017 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, NY with his loving family by his side.

He was born in Utica, on February 1, 1941 a son of the late Saul and Antoinette Soldato Jalonack and was educated in local schools, having graduated from UFA. On February 12, 1965 he was united in marriage to Sandra J. Pavia a blessed union of 42 years until her passing in 2007.

Leroy was a Police Officer and dedicated member of the Utica Police Dept. for over 32 years until his retirement. He was a member and past officer of the John E. Creedon, PBA.

Surviving are his daughter Shelley Penge; his son Jefferey Jalonack; three adored grandchildren Ashley, Stephen and Alyssa Penge; his sister and brothers, Barbara and Richard Wishart, Frank Jalonack, Charles and Tamela Collard and Dennis Jalonack; his in-laws Frances Pavia whom Leroy shared a close bond with, June Pavia, Robert Pavia, Bill Thurston and Martin Slagel and several loving nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends and his UPD family, especially his comrades of the C-Squad. He was predeceased by his beloved daughter Gina Raffule and husband Anthony and his sister Charlotte Thurston and brother Lawrence Jalonack

There will be no public visitation.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 11:00 am in St. Anthony/St. Agnes Church, Utica. The family will greet all visitors at the conclusion of mass in church. Private entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
