Lucretia Cora Thomas, age 89, of Utica, passed away peacefully on Monday December 27, 2021, at the Masonic Care Community after a long illness, with the love and support of her family.
She was born in Utica on September 8, 1932, a daughter of the late Angelo and Mary Yacono Thomas and was a graduate of TR Proctor High School, and also the Mater Dei College.
Lucretia was employed as a Certified Addiction Councilor with the State of New York at the McPike Addiction Treatment Center in Utica. She was a long-time member of the Scarlet Starletes Red Hat Group.
Surviving are her grandson, Jon-Paul Kidwell and his wife Christina and their children Ethan, Ben and Sam; her granddaughter Angela Grillo; son-in-law Bob Kidwell of Plattsburgh; her brother and sister-in-law Douglass and Heidi Thomas of FL. and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her daughter Nan-Marie (Grillo) Kidwell; her son Angelo Grillo and her brother Frank Thomas.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday January 6, 2022 at 11:00 am in St. Anthony/St. Agnes Church, Utica. Private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Face masks are required for attending services. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Lucretia may be made to the ICAN, 310 Main St., Utica, NY 13501.
