Marguerite (Lazzaro) Dichiera, age 88, of Frankfort, NY passed away on Monday July 8, 2024, at the Eastern Star Nursing Center with her beloved family by her side.
She was born in Syracuse, NY on May 30, 1936, a daughter of the late John and Rose Giarratano Lazzaro and was educated in local schools having graduated from TR Proctor High School Class of 1954. She was married to Anthony Dichiera on June 8, 1957, in Mt. Carmel Church, a blessed union of 59 years until his passing on April 23, 2017. Marguerite was a legal secretary for many years, having worked for local area Law Firms, until her retirement. She was an avid bowler and was a member of the Utica Woman’s Bowling Association.
Surviving are her son, Daniel Paul Dichiera, D.P.T. and wife Theresa (Borruso) Dichiera; her three daughters Deborah R. (Dichiera) and husband Michael Mathews; Annette M. (Dichiera) and husband Garry Herbert, Sr; and Paulette M. (Dichiera) and husband John Curreri, Sr.; her beloved grandchildren Daniel A. and Rachel (Campbell) Dichiera, Sarah Dichiera, Kasey Turturo, Valerie (Mathews) Longo and husband Anthony Longo, Christopher R. Herbert, Garry and Meghan (Stover) Herbert, Jr., Matthew and Lyndsey (Greene) Herbert, John and Kristen (Abbott) Curreri, Jr. and Lisa M. (Curreri) and husband Matthew Coppola, and Emily Sophia and Eliana Grace Meinders; beloved great-grandchildren Gabriella, Sophia, Anthony John and Finn Dichiera, Anthony John Longo and Michaelina Rose Longo, Lukas Anthony and Connor Rhys Herbert, Aislynne Marguerite Herbert, Quinn Curreri, and Gavin and Vienna Coppola; her sister Lucille (Lazzaro) Gatto of Frankfort; her in-laws Dolores Sarcone, Theresa Collicco, Nicoletta Strickler, Rita (Pete) Moore and also Lazzaro family members of Syracuse and Florida, and Dichiera family members in CA. and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her beloved grandson Michael Anthony Mathews.; four brothers Salvatore, Paul, Thomas and John Lazzaro, her in-laws Rosemarie (Lanny) Romano, Joseph Sarcone, Sr., Anthony Collicco, Jacqueline Grande, James Strickler and Ronald Gatto, Sr.
There will be no public visitation.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial this Friday July 12th at 12:00 Noon in Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Church. The family will greet all visitors at the conclusion of Mass in church. Private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations in her name may be made to Hospice Care Inc. Envelopes will be available at church or Donate Online.
