Marilyn J. Poccia

Miss Marilyn J. Poccia, age 83, formerly of Utica, passed away on Saturday May 5, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in West Palm Beach, FL.

She was born on June 21, 1934, in Utica, a daughter of the late Nicholas and Lucy Summo Poccia. Educated locally she was a graduate of T.R. Proctor High School.

Marilyn was employed by Grimaldi’s Restaurant in Utica and Syracuse, and also worked in the restaurant business in FL for many years until her retirement.

Surviving are her cousins Dick and Lauren Mattia, Patti Diven, Rocco and Eleanor Summo and Florine Zane; one aunt, Edith Poccia and her children; and several other cousins; her dear friends, Mary Grimaldi of FL., Jeannie and Fred Castronovo, Brenda and Dave Herron all of Utica and Heidi Klein of FL. She was predeceased by a special cousin Susan Dombrowski and her dear friend Fred Grimaldi.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 10:30 am in Historic Old St. John’s Church. Private entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.

There will be no public visitation.
