Mary (Angelo) Sardelli

Mrs. Mary (Angelo) Sardelli age 101, formerly of Sauquoit, passed away on Friday February 19, 2021 at the Eastern Star Home with the love and support of her family.

She was born on December 10, 1919 in Utica, a daughter of the late Anthony and Vita Angelo and was educated in local schools. On October 26, 1940 she was married to Frank C. Sardelli in Mt. Carmel Church, a blessed union of 60 years until his passing on March 12, 2001. Mary was a devout Catholic and attended Mass daily. She also loved cooking and baking Neapolitan and Sicilian dishes.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law Atty. Lawrence and Barbara Sardelli of Utica and Anthony and Dyan Sardelli of West Winfield, her beloved grandchildren Sara and Kenny Rachon, Lisa and Ross O’Donovan, Terry Sardelli, Erin and Kevin McCauley, Frank Sardelli and Ray Sardelli, and several beloved great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters Sophie Gimelli, Vita Angelo, Mae Angelo and Sister Celine Angelo; one brother Joe Angelo and several in-laws.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 10:30 am in Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Church. Private entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. All COVID protocols will be followed, face masks, social distancing and church trace signing. Please arrive to church early to allow for trace signing before mass. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mary, may be made to the Eastern Star Home 8290 NY 69 Oriskany, N.Y. 13424, where she shared pleasant times and received loving care by its staff.
