Neamor Louis Joseph

May 2, 1924 — January 3, 2019

Ontario, California

Mr. Neamor Louis Joseph, age 94, passed away peacefully at the Inland Christian Home in Ontario, California, surrounded by his children on Thursday, January 3, 2019.

He was born on May 2, 1924 in Utica, New York to Daher Joseph Attalah and Anna Joseph Attalah.  On June 27, 1955, he married Pearl Marjorie Closs, together they had three children, two daughters and a son. Neamor enjoyed many active years of a richly rewarding life.  His numerous interests and passion for leading a long and healthy life, were only exceeded by his love for his family. In his youth, he started as a janitor in a machine shop, eventually working his way up to becoming a successful machinist.  It wasn't long after, his entrepreneurial spirit guided him to create and operate many different businesses.  As a young man, he built a large vending machine business, placing many candy machines throughout Utica.  After moving his family to Southern California in 1962, Neamor purchased a commissary in Culver City that served meals to actors and actresses involved with television shows produced by Desilu Studios.

In his later years,  he started his own insurance agency and soon became the number one insurance agent insuring gas stations in Orange County, California.  His lifelong love of movies, led Neamor in his senior years to secure an agent and was cast as an extra in more than ten major motion pictures featuring such movie stars as Tom Hanks, Michael Keaton and Jim Carrey.  Always wishing to keep his mind fresh, he took guitar lessons and creative writing classes well into his sixties and seventies. His remarkably energetic disposition served him well into his seventies and even eighties, where Neamor won many trophies for his bowling and especially his dancing skills.

Surviving Neamor are his daughter and caretaker, Sharon Wallander and husband Bill; his son, Steven Joseph and Karen Boyd; his daughter, Theresa House and partner Brenda Koenig; his granddaughters, Theresa, Mona, and Jennifer; his grandsons David and Daniel; 14 great grandchildren; his sisters Mary Eade and Christine Leone; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Vera Berbary, Eva Flihan, Matilda Ferris, Josephine Giglio; and his brother, Mark Joseph.

Neamor will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched.
