Nicole R. (Cozza) Siriano 1978-2025 Nicole Cozza-Siriano, age 46, of Whitesboro, NY, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. At the time of her passing, she was holding the hand of her devoted sister, who never left her side. Her family’s love surrounded her in spirit, just as it did throughout her life.
Nicole was born on August 23, 1978, in New Hartford, NY, the beloved daughter of the late Louis and Theresa “Terry” (Rabbia) Cozza. A 1997 graduate of New Hartford High School, Nicole developed an extraordinary work ethic early in life. While still in school, she began working at Grimaldi’s Restaurant and later at The Trackside Tavern—two places where she not only learned the value of hard work but also forged cherished, lifelong friendships.
Nicole’s professional journey led her to the Oneida County Public Defender’s Office, where she began working in Drug Court. This pivotal role ignited her passion for helping those affected by substance abuse and launched a career in counseling that spanned over two decades. She earned her Paralegal Certification, CASAC Advanced Counselor Certification, and became a Certified Recovery Coach. Nicole worked with numerous rehabilitation centers and collaborated with local and state agencies to create and implement several successful recovery programs that are still in use today. A fierce advocate for reducing the stigma around addiction, Nicole organized impactful community events such as the Stomp Out the Stigma Walk and the Butterfly Release ceremony, honoring lives lost to the disease of addiction. Her mission was never just a job—it was a calling. Her deep compassion and unwavering commitment made her a beacon of hope to many.
Alongside her advocacy work, Nicole proudly worked beside her father at their family business, Rintrona’s Bakery, until its closing in 2009. Baking had always been close to her heart, and in 2018, she took a leap of faith to pursue her passion fully by opening her own bakery, Holy Pizzolie – A Taste of Heaven. From the moment it opened, it became a beloved local treasure. Her hand-crafted cakes, homemade pastries, and lovingly designed confections earned her widespread admiration—not only for their beauty and taste, but for the love and creativity she poured into every batch. Nicole was self-taught, yet her skill and vision made her one of the most talented bakers in the area. Nicole did not know the word no when it came to helping others. Whether it was offering guidance, showing up in times of need, or simply listening with an open heart, she gave of herself fully and freely. Her kindness was boundless, her soul radiant, and her heart always open.
Of all her accomplishments, Nicole’s greatest and most treasured role was being a mother. Her daughters, Alanna and Gianna, were her heart, her joy, and her proudest achievement. The love she poured into them was endless, and her memory will live on in every part of who they are. Nicole also shared a close and meaningful friendship with Elena Brough, whose kindness and companionship were a constant in her life. Nicole had a special place in her heart for Elena’s daughter, Briella, with whom she shared a sweet and loving connection. Their friendship brought joy and comfort through the years, and Nicole treasured the memories they made together.
She is also survived by many dear friends who walked beside her through life’s highs and lows, including Gina Giruzzi, Stacy Moore, Sarah Decker, Adrienne Carbone, and Mary Brucker— each of whom held a special place in her heart and shared in countless memories, laughter, and love.
Nicole is survived by her two cherished daughters, Alanna and Gianna, and their father, Michael Siriano, with whom she shared a lasting and special friendship. She also leaves behind her devoted sister and brother-in-law, Louanna and Michael Ciancaglini of Whitesboro; her treasured nieces, Jenae and Julia Ciancaglini; her dear aunts and uncle, Sandra (Rabbia) Pearsall, Theresa and Marty Maio, and Sharon Cozza.
Nicole is also survived by many loving cousins, including Andrea Faccoli, and especially her cousin and constant companion, Loriann Cozza, who was by Nicole’s side through every step of her journey with strength, devotion, and love. She was predeceased by her loving parents, Terry and Louie Cozza; her grandparents, Paul and Rose (Rintrona) Cozza and Samuel and Nicoletta (Delmonte) Rabbia; and her uncles, Dr. Joseph Cozza, DDS, and John Cozza.
Family and friends are warmly invited to attend Nicole’s Mass of Christian Burial, which will be held on Thursday, August 7th at 12:00 Noon at Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Church, with Rev. James Cesta officiating. The family will receive visitors following the Mass in the church. Private interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery.
Nicole’s light continues to shine through the lives she touched, the family she adored, and the love she gave so generously. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
