Ronald F. Cardillo age 80, of Utica, passed away on Friday November 24, 2023, at the Wynn Hospital, Utica, with his loving family by his side.

He was born in Utica on January 4, 1943, a son of the late Raymond and Mary Mancuso Cardillo and was a graduate of TR Proctor High School. Ron also attended college for his certifications to achieve his Master Plumbers License in both Utica and Rome NY. He served our country in the US Army from 1964-1967. On April 18, 1964, he was married to Charlotte “Lottie” Nolan in St. Agnes Church a blessed union of 59 years. Ron began his plumbing career with the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union #79 / #112 and worked for various mechanical contractors around the local area. He was employed for over 35 years with the Utica City School District as a licensed plumber. He also served as the City of Utica Plumbing Inspector for many years, until his retirement. Ron was well known in the community as Ronnie Rhythm playing drums for bands such as the Playboys, Tim O’Shea and the Echoes of Time and many others throughout his lifetime. He also served as the house band for many popular national recording artists.

A loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, Ron’s true love was his family. His life was centered around everything they did, and he was always a proud father and grandfather. They will forever hold his memory in their hearts.

Surviving is his beloved wife, Lottie; his son and daughter-in-law Ronald Jr. and Gina Cardillo of NJ; his daughter Charlotte Cardillo and her companion Michael Jablonski of Utica; his cherished grandchildren Julia Cardillo and her husband Duncan Spaulding, Ronald Cardillo III, Jonmichael Cardillo and Gabriel Cardillo; his in-laws Lenny and Anna Nolan, Francis, Felix and John Nolan and Lucille and John Latini along with several nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his twin brother Raymond (Mary) Cardillo, his sister Joyce (Gene) Insogna and his brother-in-law William Nolan.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday December 2, 2023, at 1:30 pm in Mary, Mother of Our Savior Church (Our Lady of Lourdes Campus) 2222 Genesee St. Utica. The family will greet visitors at the conclusion of mass in church. Private burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
