Rose Colicci

Mrs. Rose (Sopo) Colicci, age 90, of Utica, passed away on Tuesday July 2, 2013 at the Masonic Care Community with her beloved family by her side.

She was born in Utica on June 11, 1923, a daughter of the late Stephen and Rose Tomaselli Sopo, and was a graduate of T.R.ProctorHigh School. On August 29, 1942 she was joined in marriage to Joseph Colicci in St. Anthony's Church, a blessed union of 70 years.

Rose was employed for many years at I.C.L., and for over 20 years at General Electric in the Radio Receiver Dept., until her retirement. She was a parishioner of St. Anthony's Church, a member of the St. Anthony's Women's Auxiliary #321 since it's inception in 1960. She was a member of NU Sigma Psi Sorority, the I.A.M., and the NorthUticaSeniorCenter. She was also a loving member of her "Cousins Club" for over 50 years. Rose was a dedicated volunteer at various organizations throughout her life.

Surviving are her beloved husband Joseph; one loving son and daughter-in-law, Angelo and Diane Colicci of PA; her cherished grandchildren Lisa Leone and David Evans and Angelo and Kelly Colicci; two cherished great-grandsons Angelo III and Vincenzo Colicci; two loving sisters Angeline Penge and Mildred DellaGalla; her devoted in-laws Anthony Colicci and Ralph and Jacqueline Colicci, all of Utica; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her daughter Donna Lee Colicci; her brother Joseph Sopo; her sister and brother-in-law, Marion and Joseph Capozella; and in-laws Irma Colicci, William Colicci, Marco Penge and Joseph DellaGala.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. from The Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home, Inc. 1122 Culver Ave., and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Anthony and St. Agnes Church. Private interment will be in CalvaryCemetery.

Visiting hours will be Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Ladies Auxiliary will assemble for services Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
