Rosemarie (Conte) Brown

November 22, 1932 — September 26, 2016

Mrs. Rosemarie (Conte) Brown, age 83, daughter of the late Gaetano and Theresa Demma Conte, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday September 26, 2016 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Born in Utica, New York on November 22, 1932, she would build a legacy not to be forgotten by her many customers as she was the original owner of Pasquale's Pizzeria and would later be affiliated with Joe's Pizza in Whitesboro for many years.

Rosemarie was married to Joseph Brown and had two children, Joseph who passed away in 1998 and Renee Brown Roman (Julio) of New Mexico with whom she resided. She leaves her daughter-in-law Melissa Brown Mandemaker (Wiecher) of London. In 1991 she married John Baisley of Clinton. He passed away in 2006. She also leaves her beloved sisters whom she loved dearly. Diane Leavitt of Floyd and her "baby" sister Jeanette Gonyea (Anthony) of Whitesboro. She also leaves Joan Kustra (Alex) of Boonville, whom she considered her sister since childhood; her beloved grandchildren Heather Rose Freeman (William) of Utica and Gaetano Brown (Michelle) of Rio Rancho, NM.; great-grandchildren Giacinta whom she totally adored, Mercedes, and Destiny, and her many nieces and nephews, including her dear nephew who held a special place in her heart, Mark Reynolds and his wife Lisa and her very special nieces who were also close to her heart Terri Zurek DeMara, Valerie Reynolds Aiello, Gina Langett, AnnMarie Roach and Deanna Vaughn. She also leaves her step son Jeffrey Baisley of Clinton, and her dear friends Carolyn Moulton Groszek and Al Doolen. She was predeceased by her sister Eleanor Reynolds and her niece/goddaughter Debra Zurek Strain.

After a lifetime of hard work, the heavenly gates are now open for a woman who has earned the love and respect of many and may she now watch down upon all of us with her late husband Jack and her son Joseph.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday morning from 9:30 am until 10:45 am at The Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home Inc. 1122 Culver Ave., Utica. Her Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 am in Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Church. Private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
