Rosemary Squillace

February 16, 1930 — October 21, 2025

Utica

Rosemary Squillace, age 95, of Utica, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at the Wynn Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Utica on February 16, 1930, Rosemary was the daughter of the late Frank Coronato and Rachel Principe. She attended local schools and married the love of her life, Guy Squillace, on November 8, 1947, in St. Anthony of Padua Church—a beautiful union that lasted 50 years until his passing on November 6, 1998. Together, they built a lifetime of memories filled with laughter, love, and family.

A woman of style, strength, and spark, Rosemary owned and operated the Four Seasons Boutique, where she shared her eye for beauty through custom drapery, blinds, home décor, and children’s clothing. She had a flair for design, a sharp wit, and a personality that lit up every room she entered.

Rosemary was the definition of family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, Nonnie, and Nana whose heart always had room for one more. Her family was her world, and she made sure they always knew it. Whether it was a home-cooked meal, a perfectly timed joke, or a hug that could fix anything, Rosemary gave her love freely and often.

She delighted in family celebrations, raising a glass and delivering toasts that were equal parts funny, heartfelt, and unforgettable. Rosemary also had a love for adventure and fun, especially in her quick trips to the casino with the late Josie Palazzo. Whether chasing a lucky spin or cheering on a win, she approached every game and life itself, with joy and excitement. A lifelong sports fan, she passionately rooted for the Yankees and NY Rangers, never missing a game, and loved cheering (and sometimes yelling!) at the TV.

Rosemary’s dedication extended beyond her family to her community, volunteering at the polls for many years at Blessed Sacrament and Edward Hanna Recreation Center. She cherished the chance to connect with voters and catch up with friends, always bringing her warmth and energy to every interaction.

She will be deeply missed by her beloved daughter, Rosemary Squillace Vennero of Whitesboro; her son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Linda Squillace; her cherished grandchildren Nicole (Vennero) Perrotta (Miguel Washington), Ben and Karin Vennero, and Michael and Megan Vennero; and her adored great-grandchildren Breanna and Ryan Perrotta, CJ, Nico, and Brynn Vennero, Joseph and Ava Vennero. She also leaves behind her great-great-grandchildren Ayden Johnson and Iris Herne-Keating, step-grandchildren Audrianna and Richard Pavia, and many extended family members and friends who were lucky to know her, and special neighbors Ramo and Suvada Seho.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Rosemary’s life at her Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church, Utica. The family will greet visitors at the conclusion of mass in church. Private interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of The Scala, Roefaro & Karboski Funeral Home, 1122 Culver Ave., Utica.

Rosemary will be remembered for her love of family, her laughter, and the way she made everyone feel like they were her favorite.
