Vincent J. Graniti, 63 of Utica passed away on Monday May 6, 2024, at Wynn Hospital. 

He was born in Bagheria, Sicily on May 14, 1960, a son of Dominick and Maria Rose (LaCamera) Graniti and the family moved to this country when Vincent was two years old and settled in Utica. He graduated from T.R. Proctor High School, the class of 1979. On May 18, 1984, in St. Anthony of Padua, Church, he was united in marriage to Lynn M. Tedesco

Vin began working with his father in his garage, Dick’s Auto Sales before going to work for the New York State Department of Transportation for over 24 years until his retirement.

He was an automotive enthusiast; he enjoyed the history behind certain car brands, and models, learning about the evolution of automotive technology, engineering and design. But it was always about power, performance and driving experience that thrilled him the most.

Surviving is his wife, Lynn; two daughters and sons in law, Nicole and Bryan Austin of Utica, Noelle and Kyle Kozenewski of Ilion; his father, Dominick Graniti of Utica; cousins, Dr. Teresa Gagliano-DeCesare and Carl DeCesare of Lake Worth,  FL., Santo and Rita Chiarello of Newport News, VA, Vinny and Mirella Chiarello of Gloucester, VA; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dan and Carm Tedesco of Utica, Mike and Sandy Tedesco of Westmoreland, Ken and Lori Tedesco of New Hartford, Dave Tedesco of Utica, Lisa Tedesco of Utica, Libby Tedesco of Frankfort and many nieces, nephews, close friends and card playing buddies. and his little pooch “Mia”. He was predeceased by his mother, Maria Rose Graniti, mother and father-in-law, Raymond and Sarah Tedesco and brother-in-law Raymond Tedesco, Jr., and little canine friend “Lexi”.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday 13, 2024 at 10:00 AM from St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church, 422 Tilden Ave, Utica, NY 13501. Entombment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 5 to 7 PM at the Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home, Inc. 1122 Culver Ave., Utica, NY 13501.
