William “Bill” Wilsey, Jr. age 90, passed away on Sunday February 1, 2026, at the Wynn Hospital with his beloved family by his side.
He was born in Utica on May 13, 1935, son of the late William and Irene Bower Wilsey and was educated in local schools. On October 2, 1961, he was married to Mary Ann Rich in North Bay, N.Y., a loving and blessed union of 65 years.
“Big Bill” was large in stature, personality, and providing. He had unique love of the outdoors. His numerous hobbies included fly fishing, small game hunting, and building high end furniture. He imparted his vast knowledge of fly fishing and fly tying - which he was known to be one of the best. He was the consummate perfectionist in everything he did, especially his wardrobe. Through his work and fishing adventures he knew every highway and back road in the state and the entire East Coast. Special Thanks is extended to his lifelong friends Del and Cetto Mazza.
Surviving are his beloved wife Mary Ann; his son and daughter-in-law William B. III and Sandra Wilsey, his daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and Dean Zumpano; beloved grandchildren Casey, Samantha, Christopher, Nicholas, Billy, Santina, and Bianca, and great grandchildren, Dale, Ryker and River; one sister and brother-in-law Pricilla and Anthony Mirachi; his in-laws Cynthia Barres, Elizabeth and Bob Wendler and Dorothy Rich and many loving nieces and nephews of the Barres, Rich, Wendler and Wilsey families. He was predeceased by his beloved son Christopher and several loving family members.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial this Thursday February 5th at 12:00 noon in St. Anthony/St. Agnes Church, Utica. The family will greet all visitors at the conclusion of mass in church.
