Carlton Harry Austin

Carlton Harry Austin, age 76, of New Hartford, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 10, 2023.

Carl was born in Cooperstown, NY on July 27, 1946 to the late Harry and Ruth Hornacek Austin. Carl grew up in West Winfield and attended Mount Markham Schools. He graduated fromUtica College in 1968 and worked for the US Department of Defense as a Contract Auditor for almost 40 years, retiring in 2007.

Carl was a long-time member of Players Theatre of Utica, often working as house manager or stage manager. He served on the Board of Governors and as Treasurer for many years. For his dedication, he was honored as a Member Emeritus.  Carl enjoyed spending much of his time outdoors fishing, gardening, and walking his dog.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Carrie and Bryan Coromato, of Whitesboro; his sister, Ronda Austin, of Utica; and brother and sister-in-law, Forrest and Garnett Austin, of Utica; his former wife, Kathy Austin, also of Utica; and nieces and nephews.

Private funeral services were held to honor Carl on February 21, 2023.
