Mrs. Catherine “Cay” (Diodato) Kenneally age 95, of Rome, NY passed away on Sunday December 27, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital Center.
She was born in Utica on December 21, 1925 a daughter of the late Victor and Catherine DeBiase Diodato and was educated in local schools having graduated from T.R. Proctor High School. On November 29, 1980 she was united in marriage to Daniel J. (Dan) Kenneally in St. John the Baptist Church, Rome, NY a blessed union of 25 years, until his passing in 2005. Cay was employed as the office manager with the Government Defense Contractor- ITT Industries of Rome, NY, for many years until her retirement. She was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Church, Rome, NY and was a member of its St. Marion Guild. She was also a member of the American Red Cross and was involved in many other organizations too numerous to mention.
Surviving are her sister and brother-in-law Landa and John Rozyla of Utica; and several nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and cousins, especially her niece and nephew Linda and Bob Hughes and their son Christopher and wife Ana and their children, Matthew and Robert. She also leaves her dear friend Fran Aiello. She was predeceased by two brothers Victor and Ann Diodato and Adam and Gladys Diodato and two sisters Rose and Roland DeVito and Mary and Joseph Lewis.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday Jan. 5, 2021 at 12:00 noon in St. John the Baptist Church, Rome, NY. with the Rev. Paul Angelicchio officiating. Private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
