Christine (Lockwood) Johnson

Christine Johnson, age 64, of Utica, passed away on Thursday January 26, 2023 in the comfort of her home with the love and support of her family.

She was born in Attapulgus, Georgia a daughter of the late  Mary Kinder and Robert Rucker. She was married to Bruce Johnson on September 8, 1984 a blessed union of 14 years until his passing on October 16, 1998.

Christine was employed for several years with the Turning Stone Casino as an entertainment host, until her retirement due to illness.

Surviving are her three beloved sons, Christopher Johnson (Jessica Fero), Desmond Johnson (Yanira Velazquez) and Brian Johnson (Amy Crandall); her cherished grandchildren Brittini, Taylor, Christopher, Cameron, Armerae, Elijah, Aaliyah, Brian, Myra, Mekhia, Kingston and Carmelo; beloved great grandchildren Emajha, Najei and was awaiting the birth of her third great grandchild Nahvahri; her in-laws Althea Freeman, Margaret Prochia, Kathy and Ray Graham, Deborah Clarence, Carol and Roy Follis, William (Billy) and Ruby Johnson and Larry and Judy Johnson; and her special friends Alma Jean Willis, Kelly Hamford, Megan Farda and Tabatha Trevor.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:30 - 6:00 pm at the Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home Inc. 1122 Culver Ave. Utica. Funeral prayers will begin at the conclusion of visitation at 6:00 pm in the funeral Home.
