Elizabeth "Liz" (Tartaglia-LaPorte) Asselta

Elizabeth (“Liz”) G. Asselta, passed away unexpectedly, April 24, 2023, in Clearwater, FL. in the comfort of her home.

She was born in Utica NY to the late Anthony J. and Grace E. (Lafferty) Tartaglia, Sr.  Liz attended Blessed Sacrament School and graduated from Utica Free Academy.  She also took courses at MVCC and completed many continuing education hours in the insurance industry.

Liz worked for Mohawk Airlines, Central NY Railroad, Utica Fire Insurance and Metropolitan Insurance in Warwick, RI and Clearwater, FL where she retired.  She enjoyed playing golf, tennis, skiing and later in life, billiards with the Ladies Que’T Club.

She was formerly married to Orazio A. LaPorte and also, Rocco J. Asselta, Jr.

Liz leaves her beloved daughter Michele A. LaPorte, her brother and sister-in-law Anthony J. and Dorcas (Pugh) Tartaglia, Jr., nephews Peter (Judy) Tartaglia Jr., Scott (Sara) Tartaglia, Dana (Joanne) Tartaglia and nieces Karen (Tartaglia) Pietsch, Denise (Tartaglia) Ring and husband Todd.  She was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law Peter and Jackie Tartaglia, Sr., her nephew in-law Bruce Pietsch, and former sister-in-law, Genevieve Barr Tartaglia.

Also, special acknowledgement to the LaPorte - Ryan family who she thought fondly of.
