Marie A. (Brittelli) Zegarelli
Obituary
Marie A. Zegarelli, age 92, of Utica, passed away on Thursday July 14, 2022 at the Utica Rehabilitation and Nursing Center with the love and support of her family.
She was born in Utica on May 7, 1929, a daughter of the Late Pasquale and Rose Sardelli Brittelli and was a graduate of TR Proctor High School. Marie furthered her education attending BOCES, attaining her LPN Degree. Marie was at one time marred to Anthony (Ziggy) Zegarelli. He passed away in 2003.
Marie was an LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) at Faxton Hospital for many years until her retirement. She was a dedicated parishioner of St. Anthony/St. Agnes Church, where she donated much of her time, volunteering for all the festivals and nearly every event associated with the church. She was also a member of the St. Theresa Society. Marie was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose life centered around her children. Her family will forever hold her memory in their hearts.
She was predeceased be her beloved daughter Patricia Lyszczarz.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law Anthony (Skip) and Michelle Zegarelli of Frankfort and Gary and Dawn Zegarelli of Utica; her beloved grandchildren Jeffery Lyszczarz and Sharon, Roxanne Carey and Scott, Gina Zegarelli and Kenneth, Johanna and Dave Lopiccolo, Anthony and Kelly Zegarelli, Sarah and Rick Hill, Rebecca Zegarelli and Carlos, Gary Zegarelli, Jr. and Nicholas Zegarelli; several beloved great grandchildren; her son-in-law Paul Lyszczarz and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial which will be held on Monday August 1, 2022, at 11:00 am in St. Anthony/St. Agnes Church. The family will greet all visitors at the conclusion of mass in church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Anthony/St. Agnes Church in memory of Marie.
