Richard “Dick” H. Hughes, 87, of New Hartford, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, with the loving support of his family.

A lifelong resident of this area, Dick was born on June 14, 1935, to the late Robert and Mathilda (Yost) Hughes and attended local schools. Dick retired in 1993. He was proud to have run the Utica Boilermaker Road Race after turning 50 in 1985 and joked that he finished without one hair out of place.

Dick is also survived by his brother-in-law Costa (Collette) Tatas, sister-in-law Sophie (Jacques) Goueytes, sister-in-law Agapi Tatas and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Dick was predeceased by his brother, Elmer Rook, and his wife, Mary, along with brother-in-law Pandelie Tatas.

A private Mass of Christian burial will be held at the convenience of the family at St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church, Utica. Private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
