Richard (Dick) Raymer

PALM HARBOR,FL-Richard (Dick) Raymer peacefully passed away at the age of 83 in the comfort of his own home on March 25, 2023.

Dick was born on September 1, 1939 in Utica, New York to Nicholas and Margaret (Grant) Raymer. A graduate of Utica Catholic Academy, he was a standout athlete excelling in baseball where upon graduation was signed to a professional contract by the Cleveland Indians baseball organization.

After his baseball playing days ended, Dick proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a Sgt. E-5 instructor in the Chemical Corp division stationed in Ft. McClellan, Alabama. He was honorably discharged after the birth of his first daughter Colleen who was of special needs.

Dick was subsequently employed by US Airways for 35 years as a supervisor of ground operations at Hancock International Airport in Syracuse, New York.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Linda (Lasher) Raymer and four children; Richard (Rick) Raymer & daughter-in-law Kelly (Shearer) Raymer, daughters Pamela Raymer & son-in-law Roberto Arechiga, Jacqueline Raymer and predeceased by his loving first born, daughter Colleen Raymer. Dick is also survived by his sister Maureen (Raymer) & brother-in-law James Grimmer. He was a proud grandfather of three grandchildren; Rhett, Grace & Wyatt Raymer and several nieces & nephews.

Dick will forever be remembered for his selfless spirit and unwavering work ethic. He was an avid fan of all sports and a lover of animals, especially his cherished golden retrievers.

In honor of Dick's wishes there will be no calling hours. Donations to a preferred charity are encouraged in remembrance of his life of service.
