Russell J. Schreck, Jr.

Mr. Russell J. Schreck, Jr. age 58, of Cape Coral, FL and Utica, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday February 21, 2021 at St Elizabeth Medical Center with the love and support of his beloved wife Wendy by his side.

He was born in Plattsburgh, NY on March 21,1962 a son of the late Russell J. Schreck, Sr, and Constance Calkins Schreck. He was a graduate of Chadwick’s High School and Utica School of Commerce. On July 2, 1999 he was married to Wendy Brunet in Marcy, a blessed union of 21 years. Russ was a loving and caring husband and father whose life was centered around his family. He was a cubmaster for Westmoreland Pack #181.  He also coached Westmoreland youth baseball and Pop Warner football. He was always willing to volunteer to help when needed for sports banquets and Cub Scout events for the pack. He loved the Buffalo Bills and the Florida Gators football. He also loved Nascar especially Dale Earnhardt, Sr. He enjoyed camping and playing golf with his sons. He will be sadly missed but never forgotten.

Russ was employed as an Auditor with Data2Logistics in Fort Myers, FL.

Surviving is his beloved wife Wendy, three beloved sons Russell Schreck, III (Brittany Williams) of Whitesboro, Joseph Schreck of FL, and Ryon and wife Nicole Bengough of Richfield Springs, his mother-in-law Patricia Brunet of Utica, and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Donald Brunet, Jr and Jodie “Tina” Brunet of Dolgeville, three grandchildren Leyla, Wayne, and James, and two nephews, Donald III and Valdez Brunet and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was especially close to his cousin Darleen Philpotts who he loved very much.  He was predeceased by his brother Joseph A. Schreck and his father-in-law Donald E. Brunet, Sr.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday March 6, 2021 at 11:00 am in St Joseph/St Patrick’s Church, Columbia St, Utica. All COVID protocols will be required, face masks, social distancing and church trace signing.
