Sandra A. (Carney) Riggleman

   Sandra A. (Carney) Riggleman, age 68, of Utica passed away on Friday August 5, 2022, at home with her loving family by her side.

   She was born in Utica, on December 23, 1953, a daughter of the late Robert and Vera Geer Carney and was a graduate of JFK High School. Sandra furthered her education and graduated from MVCC, and also from SUNY Geneseo with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.

   Sandra began her lifelong career in the banking industry with Marine Midland Bank and retired from M & T Bank in the Investment Banking Division. She was a kind and loving sister, aunt and friend who will be sadly missed.

   Surviving are her loving and devoted sister and brother-in-law Letitia “Tish” and Joseph M. Sarcone of Utica; her loving companion and soul mate of 20 years, Dave Johnson who cared for Sandra until the very end; her beloved nieces and nephews Steven and wife Nikki Sergott Sarcone, Joseph P. Sarcone and wife Alyson and Marissa McCarren and husband Timothy; one great nephew Carter Joseph Sarcone, one great niece Lyla Marie McCarren; and her lifelong friends Marlene Cucci and Cindy Wilson.

   Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday Aug. 9th at 10:00 am in Historic Old St. John’s Church, Downtown Utica with the Rev. Tom Servatious officiating. The family will greet all visitors at the conclusion of mass in church. Private interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Whitesboro. In memory of Sandra, donations may be made to Hospice Care Inc. 4277 Middle Settlement Rd. New Hartford, NY 13413 or envelopes will be available at church. The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the staff of Hospice Care Inc. for their care and compassion given to Sandra and her family during this difficult time.
