Obituary

 

UTICA- Vito A. “Parky” Loparco, age 93, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 24, 2023, in AZ., surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on April 3, 1930, in Utica a son of the late Eugene and Anna (Scarafile) Loparco. Vito graduated from T. R. Proctor High in 1948 and went on to attend MVCC. He served his country bravely in the United States Navy from 1950-1954. On September 10, 1955, Vito married Rosaline Gaeta in St. Anthony’s Church, a blessed union of 15 years prior to her passing on January  20, 1971. He was employed as the comptroller for Utica Community Action in Utica.

Vito spent his time with family and friends for many years between NY and AZ. He was always there to lend a hand and on many occasions opened his home to those in need. Vito had a passion for food and loved to cook. He would proudly serve his families Italian recipes.

He had a love for horse racing spending time at Vernon Downs or Turf Paradise and playing bingo with his family at the Indian casinos.

Vito was a wonderful father and grandfather, we will cherish his smile, humor, and good nature, and wiill be missed by all.

Vito is survived by his daughters, Vita Loparco (John Siedlecki), FL and MaryAnn (Wayne) Stock, Cassville; sons, Eugene “Gene” (Mary) Loparco, Frankfort and Robert (Beth Kuehl) Loparco, AZ; grandchildren, Mandy (Chris) Mroz, Nicholas (Dana) Bridenbecker, Anthony Stock and Michael (Haley) Stock, Rosaline (Jason) Arnold, Kimberly (Amado) Magana-Morfin and Brandon (Samantha) Stelp; great grandchildren, Geovani, Amado, Santiago, Olivia, Emilee, Jayden, Jaxson, Anson, Antonio, Jeremiah, Malachi, Brandon Jr. and Grace, his brother, Pietro Loparco, AZ; his sister-in-law, Regina (Dave) Lewis; several nieces and nephews especially, Gene (Linda) Loparco and Anne (Fred) Russom; special friends, Phil and Joanne Geraci. He was predeceased by his sister, Mary (Rocco) DeLuca, brother, Vincent (Mary) Loparco,  and son in law Jess Bridenbecker.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Friday May 12, 2023, from 5-7 PM at Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home 1122 Culver Ave., Utica. Funeral services will be on Saturday May 13, 2023, at 11 AM at St. Anthony/St. Agnes Church where his Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Private interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery next to his beloved wife.
