Obituary
Mr. William L. “Bill” Prato age 93, of New Hartford, passed away on Wednesday April 19, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, after a brief illness with the love and support of his family.
He was born April 15, 1930, in Utica, a son of the late Louis and Philomena Ambroselli Prato and was a graduate of TR Proctor High School. He served our country in the US Army from 1951-1953.
Bill was a self-employed cattle buyer for over 40 years, and also worked for the Utica Veal Co. until his retirement. On September 4, 1954, he was married to Antoinette Broccoli in Blessed Sacrament Church a loving and special union of 67 years until her passing on February 4, 2021.
Surviving are his three beloved children; Selene Prato Safaie, Bill Prato and Linda Prato; three cherished grandchildren MJ Safaie, Shawn Safaie and Matthew Safaie and four beloved great grandchildren; sister-in-law Barbara Broccoli and several nieces and nephews. He was also blessed with many wonderful friends and neighbors. He was predeceased by two stepbrothers Michael and Joseph Cardillo and his in-laws Mariano and his wife Philomena Broccoli, Victor and Frank Broccoli and Bessie Randazzo and husband Anthony.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family, with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery with his beloved wife Antoinette. Please keep Bill in your thoughts and prayers.
